The history of the Universal Triumvirate is divided into several ages and eras. All events in Triumvirate history can be placed into these ages and eras and the development of the Triumvirate has progressed across them.

An Age is a general segment of time, often lasting a year or more. There have been six ages in Triumvirate history as of modern times.

An Era is much more specific than an age and there can be many eras in each age. Eras can last anywhere from a few mere months to around a year.

Preceding Age (? → June 2009)

While not technically in the history of the Triumvirate, it is worth mentioning because it is the time before the Triumvirate. It contains no specific eras as nothing in Triumvirate history happened in this time and the Triumvirate had not been conceived of yet. There are some events that did lead up to the eventual creation of the Triumvirate such as the development of the Internet and the evolution of political philosophy.

The Mearl Age (January 2013 → January 2016)

The Mearl Age, beginning in January of 2013 with the inauguration of Elliot Neil, the new session of the Administrative Branch, and the first use of government committees, reflects a substantial change in the personality of the Triumvirate towards focus on parliamentary procedure as the Administrative Branch adopts a distinct role and where politics, both good and bad, became prominent. Named after Andrew Mearl, the Speaker of the Administration who ushered in a new age of parliamentary politics and combat in government, the Mearl Age saw the revision and modernization of the Triumvirate government via massive efforts like the Major Executive Entitlements Policy (and creation of the JCC through it), the Naturalization Act, the Futures Code and the introduction of a new election system for the Administration. The Mearl Age is also known for the expansion of the power of the Administrative Branch, utilization of Mainenomic policies in determining the government's fiscal and economic actions, and a clarification and permanence of political parties and their role in government.

Revival Era (January 2013 → April 2014)

The Revival Era was the period of time after the Ogamon Age came to a close with the election of Elliot Neil as Major Executive. With a very different approach as to how to utilize the office and how the Triumvirate should pursue the future compared to her predecessors (largely attributed to the fact that she was the first Major Executive to have not known Zerouh or been considered a "founder" or "builder" of the Union), Elliot Neil started the revival era by empowering the office of Major Executive and modernizing the government. After Neil left office, Major Executive Nathan Maine served in office for a full year and further empowered the Major Executive and Triumvirate by creating new methods and techniques to address longstanding issues, engaging the Triumvirate in the Desolaran Civil War, codifying all of the Triumvirate's laws, revitalizing the Triumvirate economy after the Genesis bubble burst, and creating a new central forum for the Triumvirate.

The era is characterized by an extremely strong Major Executive (dubbed the "imperial Majorate"), modernization ideals, self-interested expansion (a term forged by Nathan Maine), the phasing out of the old and phasing in of the new (both in ideals and in people), and an overall improvement in efficiency, effectiveness, and involvement of the Triumvirate. The Revival Era concluded when Nathan Maine left office and Ryan Bleitze was inaugurated as the sixth Major Executive in 2014-II.

During the slow downfall of the Triumvirate, everything was attempted to revive the interest and feelings of hope that used to once be so prominent, going so far as to ratify a new constitution and system of government. In the end, the Triumvirate was disbanded for a few short months before the beginning of the Rebuilding Age. The Collapse Age is viewed widely as the darkest period of Triumvirate history, and the factors leading up to it are still being studied by modern groups.

The Superior Deal Age (May 2017 → Current)

The Superior Deal Age began in May 2017, as the Triumvirate began to slowly revive itself through increased interest by new members and an attempt to save the Union by several older members. The Superior Deal Age is classified by the distinct progressive ideology dominating the political landscape, with Major Executive Rice being allowed to continue serving in the position. The Superior Deal Age is widely regarded as a shift in the modern ideology of the political parties, with an increase in populism and introduction of economic relief and recover policies focused on small business and the working citizenry.
